Stepless dimming lets you adjust a light continuously instead of choosing from a few fixed brightness levels. On an LED mirror, you can stop when the lighting feels right rather than being limited to settings such as low, medium, and high.
Many mirrors control this feature through a touch sensor. You press and hold the marked button as the light becomes brighter or dimmer, then release it at the level you want.
How Does Stepless Dimming Work?
The mirror’s lighting controller changes the electrical power supplied to the LEDs. Depending on the design, it may regulate the current or switch the LEDs on and off so quickly that your eyes see a steady change in brightness.
The exact dimming range and control method vary by model. Some mirrors dim in one direction and reverse the next time you press the button, while others allow separate brighter and dimmer controls.
Stepless Dimming vs. Preset Brightness
Preset dimming offers a limited number of levels. Each press may move the light from 100% to 50% and then to 10%.
Stepless dimming moves more gradually through the supported range. This provides finer control when bright light feels uncomfortable or when a dim setting is not clear enough for detailed grooming.
Does Stepless Dimming Change the Light Color?
No. Dimming changes light intensity, not color temperature.
A mirror may offer both stepless brightness adjustment and selectable color temperatures, but they are separate controls. A memory function may also restore the last brightness or light-color setting when the mirror is turned on again.
