What Is AC in an LED Mirror?

AC stands for Alternating Current, the type of electricity supplied by household outlets and building wiring.

In an LED mirror, AC electricity provides the initial power for the lighting, touch controls, sensors, anti-fog pad, and other electronic components. The mirror may receive AC power through a wall plug or a hardwired electrical connection.

How Does AC Work in an LED Mirror?

AC electricity enters the mirror through its power cable or hardwired connection. It then passes to an LED driver or power adapter.

The driver converts and regulates the incoming AC electricity into the DC power required by the LED strip and other low-voltage components. This allows the mirror’s lighting, touch buttons, sensors, and anti-fog function to operate safely and consistently.

The LED driver may be installed inside the mirror housing or supplied as an external adapter, depending on the mirror design.
